Procedure for the assessment of LASER Systems

The LASER system falls into class 3R and it does not incorporate an embedded higher class LASER.

Verify that the following protection measures have been implemented:

presence of protective guards to prevent human access to LASER radiation, connected to the interlock system;
presence of labels, indicating class and type of emitted radiation, on the LASER and on the manual;
written procedures covering the correct use;
written procedures covering the alignment;
availability of personal eye-protection equipment (only if required by the Document on risk assessment);
training and information for the operators working on the device;
training of all workers on specific LASER risks.
